The Growing Field of Digital Advertising

Advertising DigitalDigital Advertising and the use of Digital signage is one of the fastest growing arms of the advertising industry worldwide. Out of Home and digital out of the home advertising are able to impart the kind of dynamic graphics and animations that have never been possible.

The days of the old static billboard as an effective form of advertising are very much numbered. The latest signage solutions can do a lot more than just present an eye-catching graphic too. Some can even make use of 3G networks to send text messages to passing cell subscribers straight from the electronic billboard displays.

The messages and content displayed on the dynamic signs is usually highly targeted to the market that it is located in. For instance, a signage display right next to the bar in a popular club is a great way to sell a new drink or cocktail. The same hold true for a restaurant trying to push a new menu, signage systems in house means they no longer have to rely on just the wait staff’s ability to push the specials at tableside.

Wherever there may be a captive audience is a great place to use this new marketing solution, provided the content is dynamic and capable of holding a consumers attention. At the bus stop, in the train station, even in the doctor’s waiting room, are all places you will find digital signage in this day and age.

Out of Home Signage comes in several different forms. A simple scrolling message board is digital signage in its most basic form, but can still be a great advertising opportunity for even the smallest of businesses, as the technology involved is very inexpensive. Biotech also had its day in the early 1990′s but it was a bit technical and confusing for most and was soon out bubbled by the emerging potential of the Internet where we didn’t have to understand anything much other that e-, .com and buy, buy, buy.
